In the Philippines, most of the malls have started putting up Christmas trees and holiday ornaments in the month of September.
For decades, I still can’t connect what the tree, the ornaments, and the red and green colors got to do with Christmas. I’ve read a lot about the origins of these holiday ornaments but my Christian friends say otherwise.
Nevertheless, I find the “scholarly narratives” on the origins of these ornaments more factual as compared to the “apologetics’ arguments”.
It is starting here in sydney, will be in fist swing 1 oct. It is terrible.

You can believe what John told you. Here in the US, the stores are just about all decked out on the shelves with the traditional stuff for sale. Decorating the actual store comes after that as the Halloween goods go out.

Halloween is just a brief respite from the holiday season fever here that starts September… 🙂

Wow so early! I was surprised to see Halloween decorations when we first got to Hawaii, but probably because Korea certainly doesn’t have the celebration as we do in America for it.

Philippines usually start their Christmas season when there is a “Ber” in the month. Hahaha!

Oh it gets earlier every year here in the States, it’s just dumb…

Yup, I agree. It has been so commercialized to a point that “Santa” has become the most popular icon during the holidays.

I find this angering. People seem to have forgotten the meaning of those first six letters in the word.

Rightly said, my friend… Some of my christian friends also said the same. 🙂
